“Comfort in a Little Imperfection”

leinwände presents its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, “Comfort in a Little Imperfection.”

This season focuses on distortion, incompleteness, and the beauty of the undone.

Hand-sewn stitching and sculptural pieces created through the reconstruction of vintage shirts.
Asymmetrical details and intentional gaps born from leaving things unfinished are embraced as design elements, expressing the warmth and traces of human touch that reside within imperfection.

Beaded tape embellishments, overlock seams exposed on the exterior, frayed fringes, and yarn left hanging as if still in the process of being knitted.

Elements and traces of incompletion that would ordinarily be concealed are elevated into defining features of the garments themselves.

What defines the 26AW collection is the balance between refinement and disruption.

While the details carry a sense of unexpected freedom, the garments that serve as their foundation remain clean and essential. Through carefully considered silhouettes and meticulously refined pattern-making, the collection pursues a beauty that is pared back to its purest form.

There is a quiet elegance and literacy that can only come with maturity.

To express the sense of ease that allows for moments of playfulness and imperfection, this season places less emphasis on restrictive structure and tension, instead embracing softer shapes and generous volumes throughout the collection.

Another key theme this season stems from a sentiment the designer has consistently held throughout her practice: a desire to translate the warmth of the countryside into something modern and urban.

A fleece top inspired by vintage ski underlayers and track pants reinterpreted as everyday wear are among the pieces that embody this approach. Familiar and unpretentious garments are reconstructed through a contemporary lens.

At the same time, the collection revisits wardrobe essentials such as T-shirts and jersey tops, seeking a balance that the designer herself genuinely wants to wear.
This process led to beautifully considered shoulder lines and minimal designs stripped of unnecessary decoration.

More than any previous collection, this season reflects a wardrobe that feels closest to the designer's own life—an extension of her everyday reality.
