Aiming for a pair that balances delicacy and functionality without compromise

For this season, leinwände welcomes MOONSTAR, a shoe manufacturer with over a century of history in Kurume, as its collaboration partner.

With a design that supports the shape of the Japanese foot and the reliability of vulcanized construction,
leinwände brings its own perspective to a legacy that has been cherished for generations.

Craftsmanship — A pair born in Kurume

Each pair is carefully crafted, one by one, in a factory in Kurume, Fukuoka.

The vulcanized construction creates a supple, flexible sole and a structure that is both durable and resistant to losing its shape.

Lightweight comfort and durability come together in a product designed to accompany everyday life.

For many in Japan, they are also a familiar presence — “the shoes we’ve worn since childhood.”

The base model selected is the “LITE PRIM,” known for its authentic silhouette.

A clean, minimal form with a line that beautifully frames the top of the foot.
It carries a certain simplicity reminiscent of indoor shoes, while naturally fitting into modern styling.

The most defining feature of this collaboration is the addition of two ribbons.
A detail that is typically constructed with a single strap has been reimagined—opened slightly toward the toe and finished with an additional ribbon.

While drawing inspiration from Mary Jane and ballet shoe styles, the foundation remains authentically understated.

This balance creates a quiet femininity that never feels overly sweet.

The upper is crafted from delicate satin.

Its subtle sheen gently catches the light, adding an elegant nuance to the feet.

By introducing depth through texture to an otherwise casual form, the pair is designed to seamlessly complement modern styling.

To realize the two ribbons as fully functional, tieable elements—

this became the most time-intensive and experimental aspect of the process.

Maintaining strength while shaping the shoe to follow the contours of the last.
Designing the inner structure so that underlying patterns do not show through to the surface.

And preserving the clean beauty of the edges.

Especially with the delicate nature of satin, the unseen internal construction plays a crucial role in the final finish.
The balance of function and beauty resides in the details.

This model is a fully exclusive design by leinwände.

It is not available within MOONSTAR’s inline collection, making it a special pair accessible only through this collaboration.
