The Expression of Fringes, Born from Contrasting Textures.

What the leinwände Fall/Winter 2026 collection explores is the beauty found in distortion and incompleteness.

Under the theme “Comfort in a Little Imperfection,” details that resist perfection and subtle, handcrafted irregularities are translated into pieces designed to become a natural part of everyday life.

One of the defining elements of the season is fringe.
The two knitwear pieces featured here are both distinguished by abundant hand-applied fringes that follow organic lines with varying rhythm and movement.

Rather than using the same fringe throughout, different yarns and materials are carefully combined to complement the character of each knit, creating two distinct expressions.

Alpaca Fringe Vest

Soft Alpaca, with a Relaxed Expression.

Light and soft to the touch, with the gentle warmth of fluffy alpaca.
Based on the refined silhouette of a classic men’s vest, its soft texture lends the piece a more relaxed and gentle character.

It can be worn on its own, layered over a T-shirt or shirt, or styled over a dress.
Its versatility allows its character to shift depending on how it is styled.

What sets this vest apart is the abundance of hand-crafted fringes arranged along random, organic lines.

To preserve the soft, fluffy character of the alpaca while adding a slightly distressed quality, fringes are created by combining frayed tape yarn with feather yarn.
Layering different yarns creates not only volume, but also a rich texture that can be felt as well as seen.

The softness of alpaca meets the rough, irregular character of the fringes.
A touch of rawness against its gentle texture gives the piece a distinctive presence beyond that of a traditionally feminine knit.

Fringe Polo Shirts

Sharp Ribbing, Bold Fringes.

A knit polo that combines a compact silhouette with irregular ribbing.
Its crisp, high-gauge knit gently follows the body while maintaining enough structure to avoid clinging too closely, creating a clean, fitted shape.

Dropped stitches between the ribs add a subtle sheerness when worn, bringing a delicate lightness to the structured knit.
The clean, refined body is contrasted by bold hand-crafted fringes made from wool roving yarn, applied along the hem.

The crisp, high-gauge knit is contrasted with the soft, voluminous texture of wool roving yarn.
By bringing together these seemingly opposing textures, a distinctive contrast emerges from the otherwise classic polo silhouette.

Each fringe is carefully hand-attached along the random lines.
The delicate, irregular details sway with movement, adding a dynamic dimension to the clean, structured knit.

Wear it on its own for a compact silhouette, or layer it under a jacket or outerwear, letting the fringes peek out from the hem for a playful finishing touch.

What these two knit pieces have in common is the generous use of fringes, three-dimensionally arranged along random, organic lines.
