By combining different elements and subtly reworking familiar forms, new silhouettes begin to take shape.

This season, the Short Zip Blouson and Twisting Shirt each come from different starting points, yet share a common approach rooted in reconstruction.

The Short Zip Blouson reinterprets a sporty silhouette through considered adjustments to the fabric, collar, and overall volume.

The Twisting Shirt, meanwhile, takes inspiration from 1980s–1990s military and work shirts, deconstructing and rearranging their original components to create a new outline.

While retaining the character of their original forms, both pieces reconsider familiar details and structures to arrive at silhouettes that feel distinct rather than simply reworked.

Short Zip Blouson

At first glance, the Short Zip Blouson has a distinctly sporty feel.

Its foundation lies in the generous armholes and sculpted shaping through the sleeves. The length and width of the body are carefully balanced to create a subtle volume that softly envelops the body.

One of its defining features is the high collar, which frames the face and shapes the overall impression.

Designed to create dimension when worn upright, the collar is carefully adjusted in both height and front drop so that it sits naturally when opened, even when layered over a shirt or a voluminous knit.

The blouson is crafted from medium-width corduroy with a supple feel and nuanced color. Its subtle sheen brings a refined contrast to the sporty silhouette, adding a polished character to a fabric often associated with casual wear.

An internal drawstring and double-zip closure allow the length and silhouette to be adjusted to suit the styling of the day.

While retaining its functional details, the blouson redefines its overall character through the interplay of fabric and form.

Twisting Shirt

Dress Shirts, Timeless Details

By bringing these contrasting elements together, the Twisting Shirt embodies leinwände’s balance of femininity and military influences.

The design began with military shirts and workwear chambray shirts from the 1980s and 1990s. By cutting apart actual vintage garments and reconstructing their components in three dimensions, we explored an outline unlike that of a conventional shirt.

The original front placket is shifted to the side, while patch pockets originally placed at the chest appear on the back yoke.

Functional details are removed from their original positions and reintroduced elsewhere, while added tucks create a distinctive volume around the body.

Rather than defining a finished shape from the outset, the design embraces the unexpected silhouettes that emerge through the process of combining vintage components.

The resulting three-dimensional forms were then translated into a pattern, creating a shirt with a distinct character from every angle.

The shirt is crafted from a textured check fabric made with coarse-count linen. Each panel catches the light and reveals the pattern differently, further emphasizing the twisted, sculptural silhouette.

Slightly blousing the sleeves with the drawstrings or leaving a few of the side buttons undone.

Small adjustments allow the silhouette to shift, bringing a fresh expression to the shirt with each styling.

Two Ways to Wear

The Short Zip Blouson and Twisting Shirt are each paired with trousers that share their respective fabrics and design language.

The Short Zip Blouson is paired with trousers that echo the blouson’s sculptural volume.
The Twisting Shirt is paired with voluminous trousers born from the same process of reconstructing vintage garments.

Worn together as a set, the pieces come together to form a cohesive silhouette, while retaining their distinct character when worn separately.

Of course, each piece has also been carefully balanced to work effortlessly with the items already in your wardrobe.


Rather than defining a single way to wear them, the silhouettes can shift and evolve through different combinations.
